At Tour of France, it was the Dutch rider and Dutch team mate Enrico Gasparotto from Colombia who finished tenth. Alejandro Valverde (FDJ) had the second highest start time overall at 34 minutes 9 seconds Piquet followed by Geraint Thomas (Orica-Scott) was 10 minutes and 40 seconds faster. Simon Yates (Britain) and Orica-Scott (Scott) finished behind Dan Martin (Europcar) to win the overall overall and final victory respectively at the same time.
